Lens flair could be a consideration in this.

NICE TRY!!!
This was taken at my 8th great grand aunts house in
Danvers, Massachusetts, Halloween Morning in 2002, she was hung as a witch in
July 1692 during the Salem Witch hysteria. Could you please let me know, I don't
know if this was my lens or not. It seemed odd that the beam ended perfectly in
the herbs and they seem to glow. In another copy of it I played with the
contrast, and the "beam of light" actually becomes a funnel. Since I do not have
a scanner I had to copy on that the place I had it developed put online and it
is not as clear as the original. Christine

notes
Photos in this section are the ones that did not pass our test. We're not saying
they are deliberate fakes but in our opinion, photos in this section (Nice
Try!), are most likely camera flaws, developing errors or in some cases,
deliberate manipulation. In other words, they look great but we're not qualifying them as ghost
photos.
