Mammoth vortex overhead!

I was going through some photos that my son had taken and I was fascinated to find this photo of his ex-wife. I wonder if this spirit was warning of trouble to come in their relationship? Or could this be his thumb?  What is your opinion?

Jim's comments, This has all the characteristics of a true vortex. Note the swirling effect and the tread design within the upper body. It also seems to be casting a slight shadow. Very nice!
