| When
my Dad died I inherited my Grandfather's farm. The house
was falling down and we were afraid that some kids would get in
there and get hurt so we called the fire company to come and
watch while we burned it. The day before it was to be
burnt I just felt like there was something that I had to get yet
from the old house. We had taken everything out the rooms
were bare, the walls bare and nothing was left. I was
really upset, that night I had a dream that my Grandfather came
and told me there was something else in the house that him and
my Grandmother wanted me to have. He walked from the
closet, hugged me kissed my cheek and told me that and turned
around and walked away. I was so upset and I told my
husband we had to go up one more time and look, he was kind of
mad at me and said that there was nothing there and I knew it, I
pleaded just one more time. We walked through each room,
empty and barren. He told me we were leaving and there was
nothing there, I started crying and he leaned up against the old
closet that was empty. He reached up and grabbed a piece
of the old wall paper and gave it a pull and down from the wall
paper, papered over was five charcoal pictures of my relatives
from the 1700's I later found out. The fell to the floor
and a wave of relief came over me, I knew I had found what they
wanted me to have, they would of been burnt with the house.
Why someone papered them into the wall, may-be to protect them,
I'll never know but I do know they are safe now. |
